History of BLS

1970: BLS was born in Milan with its first production labs and offices.

1994: The EN 149:1991 European Standard for the CE certification of filtering half pieces is acknowledged in Italy and BLS upgrades its own production to the new standard. The filtering half pieces have been certified by a Notified Body that authorises the CE marking.

2003: BLS buys the Tecnopro S.r.l. of Genoa, company that manufactures rubber full face masks and half masks with interchangeable filters, used mainly for the protection against gases and vapours. With this integration, BLS becomes a supplier providing a complete range of respiratory protection devices.

2005: BLS, unique Italian manufacturer of filtering half pieces, obtains the EN ISO 9001 certification. BLS makes use of the Notified Body ITALCERT (0426) of Milan for CE marking authorisation on all the products and for final product control.
